QAV-S Aft Bumper Bracket

This is a bracket for the aft end of the QAV-S Bardwell Edition 5" drone frame. It is meant to support a VTX antenna using an SMA panel bracket with two M3-6 screws. It also holds the MATEK SAM-M8Q GPS antenna. Both antennae are oriented at a -15° angle from the top of the frame.

The VTX antenna is mounted to the left to allow enough room for the GPS wires. This also relieves some of the strain on the VTX cable (at least it does on my build).

This should be printed in TPU. You definitely will not be able to install the GPS antenna if you print this in PLA. It's a very snug fit, and extracting it is even more difficult. For most of my prototypes, I just cut the antenna out with my flush snips.

The through-holes for the frame pylons (where this bracket attaches to the frame) have a bit more tolerance than they may need because my printer gets pretty bad stringing on the inside of these cylinders which I use to get the fit a bit more snug. If you don't experience stringing on tiny holes with TPU, consider editing this model or adding some masking tape around the pylons to get a more snug fit.
