This is the final version I came up with. I made sure to add a hole that keeps the balance plug clear of any props when using a 4s pack. For this project, I'm using these LEDs: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1m-144-pcs-WS2812B-M-with-144pixels-WS2812B-led-pixel-srip-Black-PCB-Non-waterproof-ws2812/1697932696.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.XtDrqb. I also added a version with a holder for the beeper, which sits discreetly behind the LED strip. The hole points upwards so the sound comes through nice and loud.
