QAV250 Shoulder reinforcement plate for broken arm

QAV250 Shoulder reinforcement plate for broken arm

thingiverse

This top shoulder reinforcement plate fits exactly onto the front section of a Lumenier QAV250 frame. Just slip it over the posts, CA glue it, add a couple of zip ties for extra measure and your frame is back in the air. The QAV250 frame is notorious for breaking right at the arm and body joint area, so this plate is also good to add on the front and back to reinforce the arms. So far we've done a 50% fill and it seems to be a good starting point for weight vs strength (currently about 10g) NOTE: this is a very fast V1 prototype to test whether it's going to hold up to the abuse, so it's kind of a quick/dirty design, but it fits perfectly. We'll make adjustments and create a V2 based upon your experience and feedback. UPDATE 4/19: Just tested it with only the top plate and it wasn't strong enough. You need to print out 2 copies to use on the top and bottom for double support. If you need a printed version, you can get one cheap from hover.ly: http://hover.ly/collections/qav250/products/qav250-shoulder-plate-repair-the-broken-arms-on-your-lumenier-racing-quad Instructions Printed with PLA at 50% fill for a very stiff prototype.
