QIDI I-MATE 45 DEGREE SPOOL-POST

QIDI I-MATE 45 DEGREE SPOOL-POST

thingiverse

I didn't like the spool holder on my QIDI I-Mate because it let the filament jump off a full spool when parked and it had too much drag and wasn't easy to change. This design requires you to remove the right side plastic piece from the top of the original spool holder and then the printed post slides over the original metal post and hold the spool at 45 degrees and much higher than it's original position. This keeps the filler aligned with the print head much better and the extra height allows for an enclosure should you ever need one. The post is 195mm tall and the metal post goes 75mm into it. The actual spool roller is a remix from TheMadSlicer on Thingiverse and uses skate board bearings.
