Qidi Tech X-Max side panel thermal insulation

Why?

I wanted to have an acoustic and mainly thermal insulation of the thin plastic side panels of the Qidi Tech X-Max which doesn't look like a giant black foam plate, that has been bungled and glued onto the panels

Features:

Looks so much better than foam

Requirements / Mounting:

I printed them using PETG because it handled the thin walls best and its flexibility caused one useful effect: the EVA foam plates bend the walls slightly outwards, providing a jamming effect inside the Qidi's side panels fixing them without glue

Cut out a corresponding piece of foam (I used EVA foam from a kids puzzle mat because of its stability, bright colors and insulation properties)

Push it inside the frames

Clamp the plates inside the Qidi's side panels (see photographs)

Hope you like it, comments and feedback as always very much appreciated… :-)
