<h5>Why the filter?<br>&nbsp;</h5><p><i><strong>Filter design will not interfere with internal spool or the moving bed!</strong></i></p><p><i><strong>Apart from significantly cleaning the air inside the printer chamber the filter will also circulate the hot air in the chamber and will help it heat up faster and even.</strong></i></p><p>QIDI X-MAX is very capable printer for it's price, it will print ABS, ASA, PC, PCCF and many other types of filament (with proper extruder and hotend - see the toolhead upgrade <a href="https://www.printables.com/model/229503-qidi-x-max-carriage-upgrade">HERE</a>). ASA and ABS and amazing and affordable materials, suitable for various applications both indoors and outdoors, but… they contain some nasty components that produce nasty odors, VOCs and particles while melted for printing. The activated carbon is great in absorbing smells, fumes and particles. HEPA filter is added to pick up on anything that activated carbon can not or does not catch.</p><p>Both carbon and HEPA containers are easily removed by first removing the main filter body cover. On of the back plates (upper one) is then used to mount the filter on.</p><p>First insert 2 heat inserts into one of the back plates, then screw it on the upper position using m3x6 screws and stock fan holes. After screwing on the bottom back plate, mount the main filter body onto the top back plate.</p><p>Connect the fan to the stock X-MAX fan wires and make sure the fan voltage matches.
