Qidi X-Max Z-Limit Switch Mount

Qidi X-Max Z-Limit Switch Mount

Redesigned Z limit switch mounting for the Qidi X-Max (may also work on X-Plus, but have not confirmed dimensions). This design brings the switches closer toward the front in order to clear the lip of the steel platform when mounted upside down. I wanted to push the platform as high as possible and that required flipping the platform upside down. That has the added benefit of looking nicer (IMHO) and being easier to clean. The switches are friction fit into slot with the distance to bottom set. The original mounting had a lot of play in the mounting screws and also did not allow the bearings to bottom out in the lower mounting bracket. This version engages a few mm lower than stock. That change in distance can either be adjusted in the leveling springs/bushings, or the actual machine Z maximum dimension can be changed with the M8026 Ixxx command. I have mine set to 310 due to the reverse mounted plat as well as shortened bushings. M8026 I310; Set max Z distance (default 300.749939) Fusion 360 file included to allow easy editing. Parameters are set for the trigger point of 30.15mm above the base, so recommend slicing at 0.15mm resolution to match. I suggest cleaning up the bottom edges of the switch boards to remove rough points with either sharp blade or sand paper. Check each switch with a caliper to see how close they are to each other. Once installed you can check again from the base to the click with calipers. If they are off you can adjust by gently bending the arm to compensate.
