I'm finally building a quadcopter which I have been wanting to for a long time. The design is meant to suspend and protect the most expensive component the autopilot. It suspends on the little hangers via shelf bought O-rings. I bought most of the parts on eBay with the exception of the autopilot which can be found here: http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/check-our-new-apm-2-0-revision-the-apm-2-5 The frame can be bought for less than $20 US here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/X450-Glass-Fiber-MultiCopter-Quad-Rotor-Multi-Copter-Xcopter-Frame-/280820674296?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4162376ef8 And I also compensated for the power distribution board underneath inside the housing. I am using this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ships-From-US-New-Quadcopter-Power-Distribution-Board-RC-Helicopter-/200818856326?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ec1bc9186 All said and done the whole build cost less than $300 and 200 of that was for the autopilot. I 3D printed the housing and it fits PERFECT on the X450 frame. Hope this helps anybody that may be working on a multicopter.
