Second iteration of the Quadra-Pigeon. Longer, hollow arms. Rubber mounted motors. Rubber mounted control board. Electronics protected by a cover. All the old camera mount stuff is scraped away. Lots and lots of small changes. I finally gave up on using Sketch up. I was spending the lion's share of my time trying to overcome weird issues and not moving forward on the model at all. This was a good project to get better acquainted with Solidowokrs, so that's what happened. This machine is all modeled in Solidworks. I have the airframe pretty much the way I want it. Next is to design a gimbaled camera mount. Instructions Arms were printed @ 25% fill. You can -just- print them without supports. Top & bottom are 20% fill, no supports. There are four mounting holes on the top plate that need to be tapped 1/4-20 to accept the mounting bolts for the top cover"Igloo". The holes are already the correct size so its a snap to do. Solidworks doesn't support modeling of threads. :( Igloo top cover is 10% fill. If you place it upside down you don't need supports. Same set of hardware as the original Quadra-Pigeon. See : http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:186402 For the list of hardware that fits this. In addition your going to need 24 rubber grommets. I think they are 1/8" inside Dia, 1/4" outside Dia. 1/16" panel thickness. I found 'em at the local hardware store. Have tested flying this one. Flies great, large and scary!
