Qualcast Lawnmower

This restored Qualcast side-wheel model E lawnmower was manufactured in about 1939. It has a 10 inch 5-bladed cutting cylinder, wooden handle, with the shaft inscribed ‘Made in England, Qualcast, Guaranteed 3 years’. As a company, Qualcast (short for Quality Castings), became very successful as their products were relatively affordable to people with small lawns needing an economical and reliable mower. Lawnmowers bearing the Qualcast brand are still manufactured today, however their production has moved out of Derbyshire.
