A quick-acting clamp comprising a channel shaped base, a frame having inner and outer end portions, the inner end portion of said frame being received in said channel shaped base and having a slot therein, a pivot carried by said base and extending through said slot, a clamping screw carried by said frame, said inner end portion having a notch therein parallel to the slot and at right angles to the screw, and a cross-bar carried by said base and received in said notch when the frame is in operative position to hold the frame against pivotal movement said notch and said slot being parallel to the base when the crossbar is disposed in said notch
