Introduction- This is a hinge specially designed to be produced only with additive manufacturing in one print while retaining the form and function of a typical hinge! This can be printed using a typical 3D printer or more advanced solutions like Stereolithography! No assembly required- It has two moving parts but both are printed at the same time which saves time and labor. In the cross section of the hinge (refer to renderings), there is a diamond-shape form in the middle which allows both pieces to always stay in assembly. Strong and durable- For the contact areas of the two parts, they are well protected from external dirt and tiny particles which will increase the lifespan of the hinge. The mechanical strength of the hinge is also stable and does not bend easily. Low-cost solution- It is low in print material which helps to save a lot of cost and time. It also has the same type of fastening as typical hinges which allows for quick replacement of parts.
