11/28/22 - I decided no further changes are needed, so it is no longer in WIP status. Edit: 11/21/2022 Added CasterPlate112mm.dxf. The 112mm is the length that I'm using and I think it works well. You can use it in place of the CasterPlate.dxf which needs to be cut to length. Edit: 11/19/2022 Renamed all the files to make more sense. They were not changed in any way. The 2D DXF files can be sent to a place like SendCutSend.com to be laser cut. I made mine from .250 inch 6061 Aluminum The files with a 2X in front of them can be ordered in a lot of 10 ( you need 8 ) The other files can be ordered require 4 parts. At the time I had mine made the cost was about $233. The CasterPlate requires beveling the 6x M6 holes on each plate so the bolt is below the surface so it doesn't rub. IMPORTANT! The CasterPlate is a little long. The flat end currently needs to be cut to length to adjust for height. I haven't finalized the height. I'm on carpet. Less is needed for hardwood. I've cut about 7mm of the 123mm length to work on carpet. The Grips can optionally be beveled like I did if you want to use beveled bolts. The laser parts as I got them needed time on my belt sander to make them smooth. You will need to finish them yourself. Also notice that I used aluminum foil to cut shims to add a bit of space so the caster plate can slide. I took a 12" wide piece and folded it 4 times. 3 folds should be all that you need. However on one of mine I used 4 folds worth of the shim. I used scissors to cut the folded foil to size and then sandwiched it between two parts and used a punch to cut the holes. I left this as a work in progress because I've just started to use mine and I don't know if anything will slowly bend or have issues and because the caster plates need trimming. The D-Box Foot holder that mounts to the bottom of a profile chassis is at the link below. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5638907 This is how it works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8Z8e9a4NEM&ab_channel=MarkKovalcson Parts List: 880lb retractable Casters $35.99 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FDFJXK5 Qty: 24 M6x20mm countersunk bolts Qty: 24 M6 locknuts https://www.amazon.com/M6-1-0-Socket-Screws-Stainless-Steel/dp/B07PPK8P3N (If you countersink the M8 holes on the side grips Qty: 32 M8x30mm countersunk bolts https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084RMFCQY If you don't countersink the side grips M8x40 socket head bolts will work.
