Quick Release Nut - Parametric and Configurable, OnShape

A Quick Release Nut that can be configured and modified in OnShape.com. See the pdf file for a more complete explanation. If you are a registered OnShape user, you can copy the source design into your file area and modify it to your needs. The essential elements of the design are parameters which are easily changed. There are three different configurations of the desgin as well. The pdf file describes the parameters and how to access a specific configuration. The files area contains stl files for one nut configuration, in sizes 1/4-20, 5/16-18, 3/6-16, 6x1mm, 8x1.25mm and 10x1.5mm. Other sizes and configurations can be obtained by modifiying the OnShape parameters and configuration. Additional features can be added as well, through OnShape. I've only printed this in ABS, and so I can't comment on how well the parts will fit in PLA. There are parameters in the design to control horizontal and vertical clearances. Printing should go well without a raft or supports, with the parts in the orientation of the stl files. Layer height should be 0.2mm or even smaller for the finer threads. For one nut, you will need a top, a bottom, two sliders, two springs from retractable ballpoint pens, 4 ea 4-40 x 1/2" flathead screws, 4ea standard 4-40 1/4" nuts. I've only tested this from 1/4" to 10mm thread diameter, but believe it may work down to 10-24 and up to 1/2" or perhaps even larger.
