Quick "Side Roller" Compliant Wheel Mount for Gobilda

Quick "Side Roller" Compliant Wheel Mount for Gobilda

thingiverse

This part was designed as a quick and easy way to mount 2" compliant wheels to the side of our robot and allow it to roll smoothly along the competition perimeter wall. The hole patterns are designed for Gobilda channel. The axles are sized for 1/2" and 3/8" hex bores found in AndyMark compliant wheels and Vex Flex wheels. The v1 axle-bracket fit is a little tighter and may benefit from lubricant. The v2/v3 is much looser. The mount should be oriented with the small hole facing down so gravity holds the axle in place (otherwise, the compliant wheel will bind against the bracket). There is no bearing, so this is suitable for light duty use. It worked fine for us in Freight Frenzy, although one bracket did break when aggressively rammed by another robot. The Solidworks (educational license) source files are included for your modifications.
