This is a heated bed for a repstrap that is intended to be an alternative to a proffessionaly fabbed board. I made this board because it is often hard to get large sheets of copper clad, and if it is, they are often more than one repstrapper may be willing to pay, especialy on a first machine. Currently, the design below gets between 70C and 90C (under glass) when pulling ~5.79A @12v when etched onto 2oz/in copper clad. Instructions -Measure your copper clad boards and cut each one individually to a size that allows for a properly sized square. -Once you have them cut, tape them together with some scotch tape in their square pattern with no gaps. -Next you use the toner transfer/iron on method of etch resist. ---If neccesary, use a coat of spray paint on one side of the board, in order to keep a solid copper layer on that side. (most spray paints will wipe off with acetone, but it is best to test this for your particular brand). Color does not matter. -Separate the boards by cutting the seems between the laminate board with a knife -Remove paper and etch normally. -Once all are etched, remove the toner and line up the laminate in it's original square shape, so that the traces line up. -Use solder and flux to tin connecting traces and solder them together. --Tape or glue beneath a glass plate for a strong, level heating surface
