Raasay - a large animal enclosure/pen

On a recent trip to Raasay I came across this large, complex enclosure/pen. The dry-stone walls of this large strucure are up to 2 metres high! It is built on a south facing slope below an escarpment/cliff and boulder field on Meall Dearg Arnish, which would have been a great source for the building materials. It is about a kilometer walk over rough ground above the northern end of Callum’s Road, approximately NG 6012 4843.
