a 19in network rack mounting bracket for the Mikrotik rb4011 router. requires 2 x 3/4 in no. 10 tapered screw and lock nut to affix the ears to the router case. this version will also need sourcing of 2 x 12mm length version of the M3 screws used to affix the rb4011 to the factory supplied rack ears. possible 1u configurations include: - 1 x left rb4011 rack ear, 1 x right rb4011 rack ear, 1 x rb4011 module - 2 x shallow rack ear, 1 x rb4011 module, 2 x pi module, 2 x 25mm spacer UPDATE 20211101 2242 : updated to more easily accommodate insertion (and removal!) of the rb4011 from the case. tolerances for mounting screws to the bottom of the rb4011 have been increased. added additional (but not necessary) case/ear fixing points. UPDATE 20211101 1704 : removed last version after recognizing that there is a tight fit in placing the rb4011 in the case. as well, some tolerance required for the placement of access to the holes in the bottom of the rb4011. finally, will be adding additional fixing points to secure the top of the case/ears. UPDATE 20211029 1822 : uploaded version 2 files that now include modifications as described in UPDATE 20211029 1706. UPDATE 20211029 1706 : removed last version for a re-design. that design will only work as stand-alone and will not be interchangeable with other racksys modules as it is currently implemented (i.e., no support rods are used). next update will ensure that it works with support rods. UPDATE 20220120 2251: uploaded the 25mm spacers which, along with rb4011 and 2 x pi modules, will fill up 1u on 19" rack. (see updated photo) ----- racksys compatible. racksys is a modular network rack mounting system for various networking hardware devices. the racksys system snowballed out of @russross raspberry pi 4 modular rack mount system. starting with developing a tray to hold ethernet keystones to replace an empty pi 4 module, it soon turned into development of a solution to address a need for a rack mountable macmini tray - this was also built to work with @russross system. eventually, some tweaks were made to the geometry that necessitated a break from that system. of note: - the original horizontal spacing between the support bars were preserved. - the supporting bars were moved slightly lower to better accommodate taller devices. (this is the key mod that breaks compatibility with @russross system) - the supporting bars were moved slightly towards the rear, for the sole aesthetic purpose of moving the face of modules in-line with other components on my network rack - finally, a third support bar was added to accommodate future devices that extend deeper into the rack. racksys components (will soon) include macmini, raspberry pi 4, and ethernet keystone modules. please note that there is a far greater library of @russross compatible remixed modules. please check them out if you want/need a greater selection of mix-and-matchable modules. this project is customized specifically for my homelab rack mounted devices that could not adequately (for my needs) be addressed by the @russross geometries. I'm simply sharing in case someone has a similar device inventory.
