I designed this adapter to mount my Shoreline Marine Kayak LED Stern Light Navigation Light with Strobe, model # SL92001on a length of 3/4" pipe (aluminum, PVC or ABS). Since the length tends to place a lot of stress on the base, i designed the adapter to use a 2" 1/4x20 bolt and nut through the center to increase the strength. The pole is held in with a #8-32 cross bolt. I used a lock nut on it so i didn;t need to crush the adapter or pipe to ensure the nut stayed put. the nylon in the nut does that fine. The holes for that are 20mm from the end on center with a 3/16" drillbit. I secured the light in the top of the pipe with a steel wire lock pin. UPDATE: after breaking 2 adapter while trying to switch on the light i have created an adapter for 3/4" ID PVC EMT pipe. see thing: 3048296
