Rain Barrel Overflow Upgrade

Rain Barrel Overflow Upgrade

thingiverse

I needed to upgrade my rain-barrel overflow to handle the mega rain events we are having so this barrel fitting is for a 3X4 inch downspout. This is 3 or so times larger than my old one. I used a saws-all to cut the plastic barrel and used stainless hardware to bolt it on. I did add a bead of gutter sealant just for overkill. The fitting fits tight on the elbow and I did flatten the ridges in the aluminum elbow to help it fit better. I'll screw or put a band around the aluminum elbow if I need to. UPDATE 7/6/22: this overflow has handled two heavy downpours without overflowing. Success! Note: this was first uploaded on 6-30-22 but it did not show up anywhere in my Thingiverse (except in my analytics) and no reply from support, so here it is again.
