There are a lot of jokes that get tossed around. The problem with having a 3D printer is you decided to make some jokes come to reality. Introducing the very much unofficial Rainbow Six Seige Ban Hammer.

The idea came around from a lot of talk about banning people. We joked about having a physical ban hammer, for the special cases of blatant cheating, utter disregard for Codes of Conduct, etc. A little morale booster for us. One Mr. Its_Epi asked if such glory could truly manifest into reality, and I obliged. I'm pretty happy with the results.

I sourced the 6 logo from Chris_23 here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1603188
All I did was cut off the keychain portion because it's otherwise perfect.

in the end it's a pretty simple design. The parts are fairly large, they make for a hammer you can definitely hold in hand and swing, but it's not too big. I'm not sure if the threaded socket for the handle will handle being scaled up well but I imagine it should, I highly doubt it can scale down but much if at all though.

Print instructions

Category: Hand Tools Summary

NOTICE: The name of this part WILL change, according to what is declared the winner here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Rainbow6/comments/50mydj/new\_toy\_needs\_a\_name\_hammer\_mchammerface\_is\_not/

So, working in the Customer Relations Center for a video game company can be kind of... strange. If you have good extruder cooling you can get away without them.

I'd definitely recommend going for a higher infill if you plan on actually swinging this in anger. 15% does leave it feeling pretty hefty and solid, though.

How I Designed This

TinkerCAD to the rescue

This was designed pretty easily. I made a giant block, threw a B, A, and N in there, moved them around so they stick out of the block on one side, copy/paste/flipped for the other side. I imported Chris_23's awesome Rainbow Six: Seige keychain (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1603188) and cut off the keychain loop, stuck it on the strike point of what would be the head.

Designing the shaft was a bit harder. I decided on using a basic bolt screw to get it to fit in without the need for glue or anything, and to make it two pieces as the goal is to ship this. I initially designed the hammer head with a 20.5mm diameter threaded hole, and the shaft with a 20mm diameter thread, but I had to shrink that down to 18mm to get it to fit. It fits pretty snug but I imagine repeated use of the threading will wear out the plastic of the print. Originally the plan was to have the "GET REKT" on both sides of the handle, but we decided against it in the end.
