Raise 3D E2 Part Cooling Fan Shroud

thingiverse

Printed on an E2, not a pro2+. Thingiverse makes me put something in and E2 is not on the list. Forum Discussion: https://forum.raise3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=21427&sid=0d145d9e3416a285fa33cc6923b925bb Here is the cooling fan shroud STL for the right extruder. Mirror it for the left one. The aesthetic shroud that comes with the extruder does not fit over this. if someone wants to fix that, go nuts. you can redesign the aesthetic shroud or the cooling fan shroud. There is already an M3 bolt hole to redesign an aesthetic shroud and have a mount point. EDIT: Someone designed an aesthetic shroud that works over top of this here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4799000 Been running for 4 months with success. I've attached the extruder assembly drawings in Solidworks and parasolid formats in hopes this will spur a renaissance of better designs than mine! This works with the stock hotblock or the Slice Engineering Copperhead (sideways). Printed in R3D Polycarbonate at 0.1mm layer height with a raft and supports. You'll need to slice the part horizontally ~2.5mm up from the bottom so the supports can be removed and the 2 parts glued together. Do this in Ideamaker. Once the supports are removed and key locations filed up nice, lap the mating surfaces with sandpaper (150ish) on a flat surface. put acrylic glue on the bottom half which is sitting on a flat surface and press together. EDIT: I've been informed that it is not necessary to split the part and glue together if the supports are done properly. Bolt to the extruder with the original M2 screw and one of the M3 screws which held the original aesthetic shroud on. the radial 30mm fan screws should thread in to the plastic. Don't overtighten them. EDIT: ASA Has also been said to work for this part
