Raise3D Infinite Position Hinge System for Raise 3D N2+ and Pro Printer Cover

After much debate, we have decided to post the Infinite Position Hinge System for the Raise3D N2+ and Pro Printer Cover. I believe this is an awesome hinge system for the Raise 3D Printer Cover and I hope you will feel the same. I'd like to note, I designed this system because I remember what it was like to play vinyl records and back in the day, all you had to do was lift the cover and the torque hinges would hold the cover in place. Utilizing Thingiverse has the potential to help hundreds if not thousands of people. As someone once posted, please be kind and if you are so inclined, please remember to tip your server. Cool things worth noting: The Infinite position hinge system, without question, enhances the user interface for the Raise3D printer Owners. You can set the torque of the hinges and the cover can remain partially opened when printing PLA. This is sweet as you do not have to remove the cover and find a place to store it. The system has been cycle tested up to 2,500 cycles. Yields, over a 2 year period, open and close duty cycle of approximately 3X per day. Hinges selected are rated up to 20,000 cycles. I'm confident they will last longer. Please Note: All part numbers and vendor information for the components are provided in the file downloads. It Works Awesome! One Hand Lifting of Cover Really, it requires one hand to lift and close the Lexan cover. The custom hinge provides torque that can be adjusted to your liking. Simply, lift and rotate the cover to your desired position. The cover maintains an open position without a prop rod. Venting and Maintenance Yahoo!!! When printing PLA, you no longer need to remove and place the cover on the floor. Merely, open the cover to your desired location for venting. Double Yahoo!!! When removing parts from the printer or when your adding filament or tending to the gantry for maintenance, simply rotate the cover to the desired position. Fixture and Jigs This is more than just a hinge system, fixture and jig can be printed by YOU. During assembly, the fixture and jig will save you time and frustration. You can print jig for accurately locate the mounts on the cover and then you can accurately locate and drill the mounting holes. We do however, recommend you purchase a particular type of drill bit as it induces a relatively low stress on the acrylic cover. All part numbers and vendors are provided in the file download. Custom Metal Plate with Integrated Fasteners The custom metal stainless steel plates makes it easy to assemble. More importantly, the stainless steel plates significantly increase the strength of the cover. I highly recommend utilizing the plates to prevent the cover from cracking and impeding the cover from twisting. Please keep in mind, there is a lot of torque induced onto the cover from the hinges. Without the stainless steel metal plates, forgetaboutit, it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when will the cover crack. Transporting For transporting the printer, if you need to remove the cover, the custom metal plates that are attached to the frame, allows you to remove the hinges from the printer with ease. After the initial installation, the plates eliminate the need to remove the printer enclosure panels. This is a huge time saver. Handle The handle provides an easy method to open and close the cover without having to touch the plastic cover. So, Say good bye to finger prints on the cover. You can also print one of two handles. You can bond one of the handles to the cover with pressure sensitive adhesive. Or, depending on your hinge torque setting, you may want to screw the handle to the cover. If so, the custom metal plates can be used to mount the handle to the cover. Therefore, there are two handle files you can print. There is a lot of detail to review, please review before proceeding.
