RAMPS based Camera Slide from a 3D Printer Bits Version 2

A while ago I designed a 3D printer. It was big and slow and then I broke the thermister and got pissed off with the whole project. After a joyful afternoon dismantling the thing I had an awful lot of interesting 3D printed bits, some great techy stuff, and a RAMPS board to play with. I decided to build a camera slide for timelapse photography. This was described here:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:907355. It had a few issues. So I pulled together a slightly different selection of bits and designed this one which uses a "winch" to pull the camera slide traveller along. It works somewhat better. For more information I would suggest you go to my website and get all the details as well as the Arduino code. http://www.techmonkeybusiness.com/timelapse-camera-slide-version-2.html CameraSlidev2.pdf in this collection is a more detailed rundown of the project. Have fun. Print Settings Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: Coarse Infill: 15% Notes: Each STL filename tells you how many of each item you need to print. How I Designed This Throw stuff together until it works. This design is mostly the Y-axis off the 3D printer I designed (and subsequently scrapped) with a few bits of the x-axis thrown in. It was very much a matter of sifting through the bits I had lying around and seeing what was vaguely the right shape for the purpose. Is it optimised? No. Is it pretty to look at? No. Would I carry it up a mountain to try an epic timelapse? Maybe, although it can be deconstructed into a briefcase, and a couple of 16mm aluminium poles, it is still a bit awkward.
