This filament spool mount is specific for the BFB 1kg filament spools. The spool wheels fit into the spool's hub where the hub's inside diameter is 72mm to 76mm and the wheel's lip diameter is 82mm to prevent it from going into the spool's hub. The wooden dowel rods used for the framework are 10mm diameter. They might not be sufficient for 2 x 2.3kg filament spools but seem to hold the 2 x 1kg spools fine. I'm sure that with some gussting / bracing even these 10mm dowels should be able to handle 2 x 2.3kg filament spools. That is defintely something I will look into. [EDIT] - 2011/06/03 - I have uploaded new parts with the holes slightly opened up to allow for less work to make the dowel rods fit. Instructions You will probably have to open up the holes a little to fit your 10mm dowels. The spool wheels should rotate freely while everything else must be a snug fit. All dowels must go 30mm deep into the connectors For 1 filament spool: Cut 2 pieces 10mm wooden dowel of 284mm each. Cut 3 pieces 10mm wooden dowel of 125mm each. Cut 1 piece 10mm wooden dowel of 157mm. Print 2 of 3 way connector.stl Print 2 of spool axle holder.stl Print 2 of spool wheel.stl Print 4 of spool frame clamps.stl Mount the 284mm dowels to the 8mm rear upper and lower cross bars with the spool frame clamps and adjust them with a gap of 125mm between the dowels. Fit a 125mm dowel between the 3 way connectors so that one end of the connectors points toward the front of the machine and the other end down. Fit this unit over the two uprights. Fit a 125mm dowel into each of the connectors facing forward. Fit a spool axle holder over the end of each of these two dowels with the open ends facing up. Place a spool wheel into each side of your BFB filament spool and insert the 157mm dowel through their centers and push this assembly into the open ends of the spool axle holders. For 2 filament spool: Cut 3 pieces 10mm wooden dowel of 284mm each. Cut 5 pieces 10mm wooden dowel of 125mm each. Cut 1 piece 10mm wooden dowel of 304mm. Fit a 125mm dowel between one 3 way connector and the 4 way connector and another 125mm dowel between the other side of the 4 way connector and the other 3 way connector so that one end of the connectors points toward the front of the machine and the other end down. Fit this unit over the three uprights. Fit a 125mm dowel into each of the connectors facing forward. Fit a spool axle holder over the end of each of these three dowels with the open ends facing up. Place a spool wheel into each side of your BFB filament spools and insert the 304mm dowel through their centers and push this assembly into the open ends of the spool axle holders.
