This is a remix of Vince_Print's thing "Raspberry Pi 3B/B+ Case with Noctua Fan". As the title implies, it is a case for the Raspiberry Pi 3B+ intended to house a Noctua NF A4x20 5V Fan.

I recently set up OctoPrint on a Raspberry Pi 3B+ and wanted to print a case that would also allow fan cooling. I stumbled upon Vince_Print's case and really liked the design, though was put off by the "DIFFICULT TO PRINT" aspect. As a result, I decided to remix the case so less supports were required. This meant losing some of the 'flavour' details (like the Raspberry Pi logo) in favour of print-ease, but it was trade-off I was happy to make.

This remix breaks the design into 3-parts: Case Bottom, Case Top, and the Fan Housing. This makes the print easier to manage, and also grants better access to the Pi board after the case has been assembled (which may be useful for any wiring tweaks).

The Fan Housing has 4 pegs which slot into specifically-sized holes on the Case's Top. You may need to slightly sand / file / hobby-knife these holes depending on how tidy the finished print is to allow a better fit.

To assemble the Thing, the following are required:

Raspberry Pi 3B+

Noctua NF A4x20 5V Fan (can be PWM version)

8 x M3 20mm screws

8 x M3 nuts
Update - 18/01/20:

Added .stp versions of the Print at the request of toskium

Print instructions

Category: Electronics Print Settings

Printer Brand: Prusa

Printer: I3 MK3S

Rafts: No

Supports: Yes

Resolution: 0.4 Nozzle @ 0.1mm

Infill: 5%

Filament: Prusament & Generic PETG & PLA Prusa Orange & Black
Notes:

Supports are only required for the Case Top. We print it upside down, but need to support the holes which we screw in the M3 screws.

Prusa Orange PETG was used for the Fan Housing and Case Top.

Generic black PLA was used for the Case Bottom (from eBay, I think).

This was my first ever PETG print, so I was testing the waters. Happy with the results.

Post-Printing

Case Assembled with 20mm M3 Screws.

Fan Housing removal, allowing easy board access. You can see the Pegs that slot into the Case Top (and messy fan controller wiring).
