Raspberry Pi 3b Case

Raspberry Pi 3b Case

I could not find a pi 3 case that fit my needs. So this is what I made. (Should also fit a Pi 2 and will be testing for the new Pi 3 B+ as soon as possible.) UPDATE Version 2: -------------------------- I have made a new version due to some issues with version 1. I have printed multiple copies of version 1 (sliced in Cura) but when I attempted to slice it in Slic3r PE, it had some issues with the stl files. Images of the case in AIO Robotics Bright Green is version 2. Some features of Version 2 are: ------------------------------------------ * This will be a multiple choice design. As it is now, you have 2 bases to choose from; Regular or With Screw Tabs. (To screw it to a wall, etc..) In the future there will be other covers to choose from as well. * Good tolerances on things like the SD Card slot. I have yet to miss the SD Card socket on the Pi. I modeled in additional material to make it easier to get the card into the proper spot. 8 Recess in base to allow for a low profile heat sink set. (I like these: http://amzn.to/2FYbaz6) Version 1: -------------- Some of the features I included are: * Slots above the display and camera headers for the cables. * Indentation inside the lid to make a cutout should the gpio be needed. * Cutout for the SD card to aid in removal being the 3b does not have a push to release. * Mounting location on the lid for a 30mm fan. * Recess in base to accommodate a low profile heat sink on the lower chip. (Set I used can be found here: http://amzn.to/2FYbaz6 I have also included 2 STL TEST files that will allow you to print a hacked up version of the 2 parts to check for fit before you print the whole thing. This is up to you whether or not you do it. They are smaller, use less time and filament, and will give you an idea if it will work for you before the big print. My tolerances are very tight on this. In fact, I can snap the lid to the base and it will stay without screws. Your mileage may very. BOTH REVISIONS: -------------------------- I am open to suggestions for improvements to this design. I welcome all feedback. Screw holes are made to accept a #4 sheet metal screw. I used #4 x 3/4 stainless screws found at my local orange big box store. (1/2 in would be fine too. Also m3 possibly.) Hope this case is useful to you. And as always, Print On! -- The Fun King
