Plugpacks are annoying. They are hard to fit into a power board, thin cables tangle easily, the plug pack always gets borrowed for something else. The USB-C supply for this Pi makes applying incorrect voltage unlikely but good USB-C supplies are still not cheap things you find everywhere. I made this to allow the use of mains power via a figure 8 cable to power a Mean Well 15W power supply (MFM-15-5) which in turn powers the Raspberry Pi. This supply is about as cheap as a basic plug pack and probably cheaper than the official one.

The output from the power supply is routed under the Pi to the header. See picture where I have extracted the 5V and GND pins and replaced them with right angled pins so that on top the regular header is still available, below there is a pin protruding to connect the power wires.

This print is possible with no supports which is why the nut towers taper up from a point. After the print you need to insert M3 nuts into the slots and recesses, similar to the way Prusa does in the 3D printed parts of the MK3S.

The other part you need is a C8 panel mount socket - buy a good one, not the cheapest one you can find. See picture for how this fits into the case with the AC wires running to the PSU. Unless you are used to mains wiring and know how to properly insulate and make this safe, don't use this design.

Other pictures show the complete unit buttoned up - no need to ever remove the PSU lid again. This unit now sits on the enclosure of my Prusa MK3S to handle printer operations. I use another one sitting next to the internet router at the other end of the house to run Pi Hole.
