Raspberry Pi Camera Gimbal

Raspberry Pi Camera Gimbal

This is a remix of carl1961's perfect PI Camera Module Case and Mounts. It inspired me to construct just another Gimbal for the IR-Cut Video Camera he has constructed his case for. My intention was to create a lightweight Gimbal, using two Hextronic HXT900 Servos as actuator for rx and ry movement. It is intended for use with a Raspberry Pi, especially as camera for 3D printing. Used with Octoprint e.g. Octopi Plugin Easy Servo. Feel free to use in rc-models or drones... The special thing about this gimbal is that it is optimized so that the gimbal's center of rotation is close to the aperture diaphragm of the lens. This ensures an almost parallax-free image within the different viewing directions, so with suitable control also quite good panoramas should be made. This is realised by a fix pivot point of movement. Most of the gimbals that can be found in various 3D print files simply move the camera around wildly with one servo/motor simply stacked on the other... whicht ends in different viewing perspectives and uncomfortable vision. For assembly a M3 Screw and one minitature ball bearing 3x6x2.5 ist needed. Further the typical screws for the servos, fastening to the mount an fastening the construction to the servos axis.
