Raspberry Pi Camera Module Mount for Afocal Astrophotography. Design goal for the mount was to facilitate fine movement of the Raspberry Pi camera along 5 degrees of freedom in front of a telescope eyepiece: translations along both axes perpendicular to viewing direction, translations along the axis of the viewing direction and rotations around both axes perpendicular to viewing direction. Design Compatibility Notes Mount was designed to be used with 1.25" eyepieces, but can be adapted to other diameters. Several parts were designed to fit bolts and nuts available at my locale. Appropriate holes should be adjusted accordingly for use with bolts and nuts of other dimensions prior to printing. Blender file is included amongst the downloads for that purpose. Affected parts are: fastener-mandibula, where holes were made to fit M5 nuts, fastener-railing, where ducts were made to fit M5 nuts, adjuster-casing-front, where sockets were made to fit M5 nuts, camera-sitting-back, where holes were made to fit M3 nuts and bolt knobs, that were designed to fit bolts with flat, slotted heads. Post-Printing Assembly instructions Some assembly is required after printing. In addition to the printed parts, the final assembly requires: 10 5mm x 3cm bolts with corresponding M5 nuts, 4 3mm x 3cm bolts with corresponding M3 nuts, small elastic bands or elastic cord and strips of rubber. How I Designed This All parts were designed and modeled in FreeCAD. They were then exported to Blender, where they were cleaned, scaled, rearranged and exported to final .obj and .stl files.
