Google "Neopixelring Raspberry pi" and you'll find good tutorials. You'll then need to create a tiny python script that enables the neopixel. I run it at boot so it's always on when my machine is on. The wiring is very simple; VIN to VIN, GROUND to GROUND, GPIO18 to DATA IN (Neopixel).
