Raspberry pi mini camera tripod stand with usb powered light holder

A mount for a Raspberry pi camera, intended to be used on a mini tripod (or whatever else you can come up with)

Camera cable to pi exits at top of housing allowing camera to be removed as necessary.

Stand is threaded to allow quick mounting on tripod mount screw.

I saw a USB light on Ali Express and decided that it would be simple to incorporate. (Light Keychain Super Bright 6 LEDs Mini USB Light Lamp with Smart Touch Electrodeless Dimming Switch)

There is a (tight) push fit slot for a USB 2.0 female connector. This provides power from a USB port on my pi 4 and makes it very simple to install and remove the light - just in case….

Prior to installation I split and wired an old USB cable +Ve and GND to the USB connector, before pushing the whole thing into the slot (that is why the slot is cut all the way to the edge at the base of the USB housing)

The control for the light is on the back of the board so it needs to be accessible, in addition, the light does get hot and I did not want it sitting inside the housing.

I can now monitor my prints even when the room lighting is not good enough for the cheap pi camera.

Printed in PETG at 0.2
