I wanted to attach my Raspberry Pi and Raspberry Pi Touchscreen to my Ormerod 2. To: 1. Control the printer with the touch screen 2. Have a camera watch the print, so I could watch remotely. I designed little legs that screw into the touch screen, and then can screw onto the Z axis of the Ormerod, via t-nuts. The 40mm versions are pictured. They work, but the extruder stepper cable might [edit 6/Oct: ...will get...] get stuck on them on tall prints. I designed a 50mm long version to hold the screen further from the axis, which should [edit 6/Oct: it doesnt, just don't print <12cm] prevent the problem. The camera is an official Raspberry Pi camera. t I'm able to remotely connect to it via https://elinux.org/RPi-Cam-Web-Interface I used the 30 cm long cable from CPC to place the camera in a more useful position, so I'm able to monitor the progress of the print via any web browser connected to the same local network. I can then run and save the print, or if too late, remotely stop the print using the Ormerod web server. The screen is fairly secure, and doesn't seem to have alter the angle of the z-axis. I judge the project to be a success.
