The sphere Bucked minimizes friction by presenting a reduced surface area to the drum, which is equipped with fixed baffles that divide the space into three sealed compartments. These compartments will capture the regolith during excavation and swiftly expel it in the opposite direction. The material used for the sphere's construction is carbon fiber, allowing it to achieve a maximum weight of 4.8 kg. This design enables the collection of more than 26 liters of regolith.
