This model was initially developed to replace animals for establishing a new set of in-vivo experiments. With time the model also grew to become a complete teaching kit for students to practice implantation, recordings, injections and optogenetics. The model should be printed with a line thickness of 0.1mm with ABS, and PVA as support. The relatively high melting point of the ABS makes it a good substitute for bone since it does not melt during drilling.
