Ratcheted Glue Stick

Ratcheted Glue Stick

I saw this video on YouTube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcP8AWTeJ6g Basically, the guy printed out a PLA glue stick and uses that to fuse multipart prints. Great idea! But he's forcing the stick through using his thumb; the trigger pusher isn't gripping correctly. I think this is because PLA is not flexible, like typical hot glue, and has a smooth, slick finish. So I printed out the ratcheted glue stick! Comes in 4-ish and 6-ish inch (100-ish and 150-ish mm) sticks for a 7/16 inch (11.11mm) "full-size" standard glue gun. They work like a champ. Instructions You can print them low quality, but they need 100% fill, for reasons which should be obvious. I put a disc on the bottom, to stabilize it; the 6-inch has a bigger one, as it was getting floppy above 4 inches. Break off the stabilizer and feed that end into your glue gun, for proper ratcheting action. The ratchet surfaces are 1.20mm apart, keep that in mind and adjust depending upon your printer.
