Are you setting up a Maker Space? Why buy tools when you can make many of the common tools using your new digital fabrication tools. I am actively involved in my local makerspace (www.makerspace307.org) and I know how quickly costs can add up when you are outfitting your space. This is a simple inexpensive knife you can make using a 3D printer. Total cost is under $0.50 using filament that costs around $22.00/KG and Stanley classic utility blades (No. 1992). I have designed the file for printing in PLA. If you print this in another material or use a different brand of blade please let me know how it worked. Special note: The blade cover is designed for printing with a 0.40mm nozzle/extrusion width, if you have a different width you may have difficulty THINGS TO DO:U̶p̶l̶o̶a̶d̶ ̶b̶l̶a̶d̶e̶ ̶c̶o̶v̶e̶r̶ Done! Create hole for hanging or lanyard Create collection for makerspace tools Add spare blade storage if possible Instructions -Print either version of the knife body in the orientation as shown in the preview (55 degree Y rotation). I have already taken care of this in the "Oriented_Razor_Knife.stl" file. Supports are only needed "from the buildplate" in this orientation. You just want to make sure that no supports are printed inside the blade pocket. I print my knives at 0.3 mm layer height -Print several of the pins pick the best looking one. Make sure they are oriented vertically. -Slide a blade into the slot in the end of the body then insert the pin through the pinhole, securing the blade. When the blade is dull remove the pin and replace the blade.
