TEAM ENTRY: Chief Designer, Team Lead: Jonathan Brazeau Designer, File interpretation and Translation(Solid Edge): Petar Trlajic Петар Трлајић Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7L3hexP7Bek What do you get when a BMX bike and a push scooter get together for a night of fun??? Introducing the Glide Master, a high end Scooter made to feed the need of the adrenaline junky croud. No, this aint your average kids scooter! The Glide Master is a beautifully crafted, tricked out scooter, that’s ready to be set loose on the streets, skate parks and urban assault courses around the world. The Glide Master has a bunch of features that really set it apart from other trick machines and essentially put into a whole new category of “Scooting”. The front end is a minified BMX bike, but unlike most BMX’s, there is a little added cushion with 1.5” of suspension integrated into the 3T carbon fork, just enough to smooth out the jitter bumps. Like a BMX, the front brake is run through a rotator plate so that the bars can be spun a full 360 degrees without tangling the cables, so let those bars fly! A V-brake is used for maximum stopping power when you want hang onto those nose stalls for as long as possible. If the spacious, rubber padded, wood foot rests aren’t cutting it, you can change your footing up and pull some spin tricks while using the front axle mounted foot pegs. The Glide Master is made from the finest and lightest materials consisting of Chromalloy steel, aluminum and wood. As if that’s not enough, the Glide Master has one more trick up its sleeve, when you’re all done your day of riding or your hitching a ride on bus to the next skate park, the whole scooter folds up into a more compact format and can be carried around via a soft foam handle on the steer tube. How is that for convenience?! Key Features: - Foldable, compact and portable - Built strong for tricks and abuse - 1.5" of front suspenion - BMX style cuppling to allow full bar spin tricks - Strong V-brake - 12" pneumatic wheel - Carbon fibre fork by 3T technologies - Foldable foot pegs for tricks - large padded foot rests made from wood - Future models will be equipped with skid plates for grind tricks and extra frame mounted foot pegs for even more radical tricks! And more…… check out the 5000+pixel HD pics(KEYSHOT) for more details! *Notes: This is my first team entry and I just would like to make it clear that if it wasn’t for the help of my team mate, Petar Trlajic, I simply would have not been able to compete in this competition. He has expressed to me the same sentiments. I was mostly responsible for the conception of the design and direction of the project, Petar was critically instrumental in providing feedback and input about the design and translating my work into Solid Edge. I would like to add that I had never worked with Petar prior to this so I had no idea how good his skills were with Solid Edge. Given the amount of work and tight deadline, I was extremely impressed and pleasantly surprised with his speed and quality while working with Solid Edge. We had great communication together and he understood very quickly the information I was relaying to him. Again, this project would not have materialized without myself and Petar working together as a team and using GrabCad’s workbench as our “workshop” space. Very impressed with Petars Solid Edge and Solid Works skills as well as his time management skills and I’m very proud of our accomplishment with this project. I had a ton of fun doing this challenge as part of a team, more so than working alone and it’s the perfect example of how the internet and collaborative work platforms such as Workbench are changing how work is done around the world.
