RC Airplane Snow Ski

RC Airplane Snow Ski

pinshape

Summary This the snow ski that I created to fly off the snow. It should fit most electric RC airplanes with tricycle or tail dragger front wheels in the same 1/8 in. wire wheel struts. The file with skig is for the front steering wheel. After printing you will need to heat up the front part (first 1 in.) of the ski and bend up at a 30 degree angle. You will also need to place a spring to provide bounce and to keep the angle of the ski level during flight. I picked up some springs at the local Home Depot and put them on each ski, with one end rapped around the axle and the other end straighten about 2 in. and place against the ski. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Makerfarm v10 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 2mm Infill: 50% Notes: I print them using PLA on glass bed. Print temp: extruder 205C and heated bed at 70C. I use a 1.75mm filament and print first layer at .4mm and each layer at .2mm, with 4 solid layers top and bottom. Post-Printing Bend Nose After printing, remove from printer and heat the first 1 in. of ski and bend up to a 30% angle. How I Designed This Design I designed this with Sketch 3D. Sketchup file is included with the files.
