Presenting the fx7- an Arduino-based robust model. Design specifications: This teleoperated rover is controlled using Bluetooth paired to a mobile app. This RC car consists of 2 main rectangular frames. These frames are interlocked in a manner similar to Lego. This design allows for a sturdy binding of the car while also letting the user make quick adjustments to the wires or code of the Arduino. The bottom frame consists of all the necessary components, such as an Arduino board, wires, and Bluetooth module (for compatibility with every device). A dirt bumper is also attached to the front of the mainframe- this helps provide some mechanical advantage when moving heavy objects. The four motors are placed under the bottom frame in a manner that provides an additional height. This helps the car cross over obstacles as tall as 2 cm. A compartment has also been created to accommodate 4AA batteries. Total manufacturing time (3D printing): The approximate time to print all the parts is 10 hours. All components have to be printed separately, with different dimensions and measurements. Everything will be detailed below for ease of printing. For optimal results, include supports while printing parts. Dimensions: 13.2 x 10.1 x 8 cm Base material: PLA plastic Microcontroller model: Arduino Uno and motor driver shield. Motors and wires used: 4 dual shafts 100rpm BO motors, male and female jump wires, and HC05 Bluetooth module. Estimated battery life: 4AA 1.5V batteries (1hr 30m) Functions: Extraterrestrial exploration -this design is a prototype that can be modified to include thermal mapping, satellite imaging, and other customizable features. Have fun tinkering!
