RC Jansen Strandbeest

https://youtu.be/DGxwBjE5d4m Based on the innovative work of Theo Jansen, this remarkable Strandbeest was expertly crafted using G10 and Delrin materials carefully cut on a custom-built CNC router in my own workshop. The high-torque Pololu 20D 73:1 motors are precision-made for top performance (https://www.pololu.com/product/1163), and they are powered by their efficient motor controllers (https://www.pololu.com/product/1372). To minimize wear and tear on the leg joints, I incorporated nylon shoulder washers (http://www.mcmaster.com/#90061a005/=vK0h7u) from McMaster. With an abundance of aluminum standoffs at my disposal, they naturally found their way into this design. Propelled by two powerful cell lithium batteries, the Strandbeest effortlessly glides forward. Its bevel gears are precision-made by servocity (https://www.servocity.com/html/32_pitch__24_tooth_bevel_gears.html#.VSq4U3dF_Es).
