RC Speed Tank - Speed Reduction Planetary Gear

RC Speed Tank - Speed Reduction Planetary Gear

thingiverse

This is a replacement for the Drive Wheel of the RC Speed Tank. Its designed to reduce the speed. It has a reduction of 1:3,8. The main purpose was to reduce the speed of the Tank to get a vehicle that can be managed by my 4 years old Son. The original Tank was just too fast for a child. You need to print the following parts: Abdeckung spiegel.stl 1 Abdeckung.stl 1 Hohlrad.stl 2 Klemme spiegel.stl 1 Klemme.stl 1 Planetenrad (13 teeth).stl 6 Planetenrad Halter Aussen.stl 2 Planetenrad Halter.stl 2 Planetenrad_no_bearing.stl optional 6 Treibrad Zahnrad.stl 2 Additionally you need: M3x20 6x M3x10 10x M3 washer 6x M3 Nuts 10 3x7x3 mm Ball-bearing 6x (optional) The Planetary Gears are available in two versions, one for bearings, one to use without bearings. Surprisingly the version without bearings holds up pretty well in my prototype (printed in PLA). However, using bearings makes it definitely more durable. Assembly: - start with the "Treibrad Zahnrad" - place the "Planetenrad Halter" on it with the smal surveys facing upwards - take 3 "Planetenrad" (with assembled bearings) and place them on the 3 holes on the "Planetenrad Halter" - put a 3-mm washer on each "Planetenrad" / bearing - take the "Planetenrad Halter Aussen" and put 3 M3 nuts into the corresponding holes. - place the "Planetenrad Halter Aussen" on top of it and use 3 M3x20 screws to assemble it - take the "Hohlrad" and slide it onto the assembly. This might take some wigeeling, I used some grease on the gears. - take the „Abdeckung" and place 2 M3 nuts into the corresponding holes. - place the "Abdeckung" ontop of everything and moun tit with 3 M3x20 screws Remove the old Drive wheels from the tank and replace them with the new one. Secure them with the “Klemme” and two M3x10 screws. You need to reverse your motors to get the same driving directions as before! This design shows some problems where the "Treibrad Zahnrad" rotates against the "Abdeckung". No bearing is used at this point as the is not enough space to accommodate the screws. There is some wear at this point, you might want to use some grease there to reduce this.
