RC4WD Gelande II R3 Gearbox

This is a Solidworks 2012 model of the RC4WD Gelande 2 R3 gearbox for 1:10 scale rock crawler buggys. STEP and IGES versions are also included.This model does not include the internal gears - I only modeled up to the slip ring as the purpose of this (and all my other RC scale parts) is to be used for designing custom RC models using these off-the-shelf parts.The gearbox comes with a 14 tooth pinion gear which is also included with this model. If you download the RC4WD 540 motor model then you can create an assembly between the motor and this gearbox.Both gears are set up with global variables in Solidworks so you can change the number of teeth if you have a need to (just remember to also then change the gear ratio in the mechanical mate between the pinion and gear).I've set up the gear mates with the correct ratios in Solidworks between the pinion, main gear and output shaft. For the main gear to output shaft gear ratio I used the 1.78:1 ratio from the supplier website.I've assembled the motor mounting plate in one position, but if you look into the model, you'll see the gearbox main housing has a series of tapped holes that allow the motor mounting plate to be rotated and fixed in a different position, depending on the need you may have for your custom RC design.If you're interested in using this gearbox in your custom RC design, the supplier website is:http://store.rc4wd.com/R3-Scale-Single-Speed-Transmission_p_2906.html
