Real Shure SM58 cartridge mount for Model 55S (or similar)

thingiverse

This Thing allows you to place a cartridge/element from a Shure SM58 microphone into a Shure Model 55S, 55SW, 55SH, 55SH II, Super 55, or any other small body Shure "Elvis microphone" body produced since 1953. If your 1953-1978ish Model 55 has an "HML" transformer and switch, you may have to remove those from the mic body for this Thing to fit. There are videos and blogs on the web that explain how to harvest an SM58's (or any "Unishpere I" mic's) parts. My SM58 cartridge came from a wireless mic head, so it did not have a transformer with it. You can order new SM57/58 transformers from China on ebay for <$10 each, so that's what this design uses. I believe a real Shure transformer should fit in this design, but I've been wrong before.
