Rear filament guides for Replicator 2X
thingiverse
These filament guides fit snugly into the guide tubes that come with the Replicator 2X. They snap onto the existing brackets that normally hold the tubes, allowing the tubes to slide smoothly and avoiding any pinching that can cause jams during printing. By giving a gentler curve to the filament, these guides reduce jamming and ensure a smooth feed path for the filament. Additionally, they minimize offset between rolls of filament and the entry into the guide tube. I created these after experiencing repeated print failures due to an unsatisfactory filament feed path. My hope is that they will help others who are struggling with similar problems. The pictures included show the new guides in this order: First and second: The new guides Third and fourth: Show the original guide tube clips and the offset they can cause with a roll of filament Fifth to seventh: Display the new guides attached, how deep the tubes go into them, and the tubes inserted Eighth: Shows the reduced offset between a roll of filament and the new guides Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2X Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.20mm Infill: 75%
