Rear suspension mounts for a Tamiya Lunchbox

Rear suspension mounts for a Tamiya Lunchbox

thingiverse

The Tamiya Lunchbox is an old design with a simple backend: the gearbox pivots on an 8mm ABS plastic rod and is attached on both sides to sprung suspension. This simple design is cheap (which is great when you have a 7 year old destroying your buggy!) but puts a lot of stress on the parts. In particular, the funky little bits of plastic that slide onto either side of the gearbox and screw in so the suspension can connect to them broke on our original. We 3D printed identical versions to the original in PLA but they broke so we thickened the design and 3D printed it in Taulman3D Nylon Bridge and that has stood the test of time (so far, at least).
