Recaro Holding, as the parent company of the Recaro Group, owns the Recaro brand and the independently operating companies Recaro Aircraft Seating (aircraft seats) based in Schwäbisch Hall and Recaro eGaming (gaming seats) based in Stuttgart, Germany. The business areas Recaro Automotive Seating and Recaro Kids are operated by licensees. Already at the IAA 2013 (International Motor Show) in Frankfurt, RECARO showed the way to the future of the car sports seat with the presentation of the RECARO Sport Seat Platform. The study represented the state of the art in technical development and, for this reason, is an outstanding example of RECARO's typical Ingenious Design. The innovative approach of the concept: Supporting structure and design shells laid out separately in the backrest of the seat. This allows original equipment customers to design the seat to their own specifications – and thereby generally using the same internal structure. This supporting backrest contour mainly consists of carbon fiber materials – the best solution for minimal weight and maximal safety. As the structure embraces the seated person like a belt, the ergonomics are noticeably improved. The RECARO Sport Seat Platform, whose next stage will be shown in the fall of 2015, unites RECARO's collected know-how in all details, as Elmar Deegener, Vice President and General Manager of RECARO Automotive Seating emphasizes: Only those who know their past can shape their future. In this sense, our sports seat platform is based on over half a century of developed DNA of the RECARO sports seat. With its many innovations in construction and design, the materials used as well as the consistent continuation our product philosophy, our concept is the basis for future generations of the RECARO Sport Seat.
