Recoil Laser Tag Mods

Recoil Games by Skyrocket is a great laser tag system, I'm posting some of the mods I have designed for the system. The goal is to design non-destructive mods for the laser tag system to add functionality. The first item is a replacement battery door for the recoil hub. With this door you can attach adapters to be able to put the hub on a tripod so it can be centrally located in the game area and be raised off the ground which gives best results when playing. The bolt for the door itself is an M3 bolt. I had to use a longer bolt than the one that came with the original door. Here is the hardware I had on hand. https://amzn.to/36bduA0 The door needs to be printed with supports. the quick connect adapter was designed for an existing tripod I have (~35mm square at the widest part). this way I can keep the original tripod quick connect with my camera. the 1/4-20 adapter is designed to have a press fit quarter 20 tread inserted which then can work with any tripod that has the normal quarter 20 tread. I scavenged the insert from a broken phone holder that had these inserts so the hole size might not be appropriate for other inserts. Here is what I would probably buy. If you print the adapter at 100% infill you can drill the hole as needed for these inserts. https://amzn.to/2Qd8KEk I also created a threaded version of the 1/4-20 adapter which has the threads directly modeled into it so this should work without an insert. M3 cap head bolts should be used to attach the desired adapter to the door. https://amzn.to/36pmfWY The door needs to be printed with supports but the adapters don't. Parts List for LiPo Battery mod - These are the specific parts I ordered and used, other brands or sellers may have different sizes and may not fit exactly. Rouge SR-12 Battery Terminals - https://amzn.to/37pYdeE Battery Switch - https://amzn.to/2u7xtRY (note since things are cramped, I shortened the terminals on the back of the switch so they don't interfere with the battery, take care not to have sharp edges against the battery!) Battery Connector (if using different battery buy matching connector for your battery) - https://amzn.to/35bWVlZ Battery - https://amzn.to/2ZMcO1C Voltage Regulator - https://amzn.to/36cVsgN Voltage Monitor - https://amzn.to/2MLrjgC (this specific model is very loud, I ended up removing one of the two buzzers to make it quieter. You could likely find the same device with only one buzzer as well, just be mindful of the dimensions compared to the ones shown in the link. Also this monitor can be used on batteries up to 8 cells, Since I was only going to use 3 cell batteries I removed some of the pins leaving only the ones needed for 3 cell batteries. This step shouldn't be required but I have not tested the fit with all the pins left as is) Balance Lead Extension (to connect to voltage monitor) - https://amzn.to/2srzYhD Bolts/Screws - https://amzn.to/36bduA0 (It turned out I used a M3x8 for one side and needed an M3x12 for the other. You can use an M3x12 for both without issue) Mods in progress:

Rouge rifle LiPo battery replacement - replaces the existing battery compartment with new 3D printed parts to hold a 3s LiPo battery and appropriate regulator and switch. Working prototypes are complete, in the refinement process now.
** Current version has been uploaded! This comes in two parts:

Main part is the compartment that replaces the stock (orange) battery hatch. This holds the lipo battery, switch and optional volt monitor. Because I'm using a voltage regulator I wanted a switch to disconnect the battery from the regulator so there would be no power draw to the battery when not in use. Also the voltage monitor is designed to slide in and out so that it can be disconnected when not in use

Second part replaces the stock AA battery tray. This part holds the voltage regulator and has the metal battery terminals to connect to the Rouges existing battery terminals.

Mods planned:

Spitfire LiPo battery replacement - replace existing battery with 2s LiPo

Rouge LiPo battery replacement Mark 2 - redesign this mod to be able to remove the battery without tools, may also incorporate a stock extender as well.

Rouge cosmetic barrel extender / suppressor - create a screw on suppressor like extension just for looks.
