In the case of the Mojacar la Vieja reservoir in Almería, Spain, there's a chance that stored water surpasses the limit at the vault's starting point due to its completely underground nature. This isn't common, but because it's buried, potential problems from thrusts that could cause collapse are avoided. Without considering this possibility, approximately 172,000 liters (172 cubic meters) of water can be calculated as the volume stored. The cistern is replenished through a rainwater collection system whose entry point is on the southern wall. A groove visible in this area would facilitate the flow of water inside. Moreover, it's possible that part of the water was manually brought by bottles and jars.
