Recursive snowflake in BlocksCAD

Recursive snowflake in BlocksCAD

cults3d

This is a straightforward recursive snowflake in BlocksCAD that you can customize by going to the project page and selecting "Create my own". The basic shape comes together by drawing a line and then performing recursion for six scaled-down shapes that are also rotated/translated. The result is one sixth of the 2D image, which is then extruded and rotated six times in a loop as per the Challenge requirements. To print, choose one of the designs with thicker interior walls. I used a razor to help carefully remove the delicate snowflake from the bed. Some threads remained that actually helped keep it together. Transparent white PLA gave it a very realistic snowflake appearance. The Customizer is made by exporting the BlocksCAD file to OpenSCAD and then moving the variables to the top of the file. December 22, 2017: I added an adjusted version where the inner segments are thicker, making the snowflake more durable when printed.
